Okay, since we're getting into the level of truly obsessive orchestration with the VIs (particularly the Extended ones), I have a suggestion: how about offering "same string" legatos (which already exist, I know, for Chamber Strings), with the option of choosing the string? I'm assuming that, with the current same string legatos, the choice of string is made by register, then the intervals themselves are always the same-string stopped versions...
And I'm guessing you could probably "trick" the Chamber Strings into doing this if you ascended, legato, up to the desired phrase, but that's more than a little awkward.
Anyway, it would be really nice, for Solo Violin for example, to be able to specify that a phrase be played, say, high on the G-string, as this is a common technique in solo writing. Picky, I know, but we're already headed that way, so why not go the distance? [;)]
