  • More VI BASIC-PRESETS

    Basic Presets?
I have created general - equal -presets for all instruments.
They contain the mostly used samples which (more or less) are
available from every instrument (also ensembles).
And further: For each group of instruments I added the most
    typical common additions.
So you will find portatos with the strings or repetitions with the
    woodwinds.

    With the VI-basic-presets...
Play a melody with the Oboe and change the instrument after it.
Transpose the melody for the Viola or the Cello...
Without searching for equal articulations for the new instrument - play
the melody - only by loading the BK-Preset for the wanted instrument.

    Listen to this example:
    Instrument Exchange
Oboe, Chamber Violins, Flute, Solo Viola, Solo Cello, Bassoon Ensemble, All.

You will have nothing more to do than to change the instrument by
choosing the corresponding Basic-Organisation-Preset for the instrument
    you prefer... [:D]

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I added BK-Presets for some more instruments. These are available:

    Strings - Presets (*.fxp)
Data files for the Solo Strings (*.fxp):
    Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Data files for the Chamber Strings (*.fxp):
    Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Bass
Data files for the Appassionata Strings (*.fxp):
    Violins

    Woodwinds - Presets (*.fxp)
Data files for the Woodwinds 1 Solo Instruments (*.fxp):
Flute, French Oboe, Clarinet in B, Bassoon
Data files for the Woodwinds 1 Ensemble Instruments (*.fxp):
    Flute (FL-3), French Oboe (OB-3), Clarinet (KL-3)

    Brass 1 - Presets (*.fxp)
Data files for the Brass1 Solo Instruments (*.fxp):
Trumpet in C, Horn (HO1), Tenor Trombone, Tuba
Data files for the Brass1 Ensemble Instruments (*.fxp):
    Trumpets (Tr-3), Horns (HO-4), Trombones (TB-3)

    Brass 2 - Presets (*.fxp)
Data files for the Brass2 Solo Instruments (*.fxp):
Piccolo Trumpet, Bass Trombone, Contrabass Tuba
Data files for the Brass2 Ensemble Instruments (*.fxp):

PDFs exist to each preset. Example: Chamber Strings Violin

  • That's awesome!!!

And funny because I've just bought my first VIs, and the first thing I'd wondered about this morning is whether anyone might have some "standard" presets to make it simple to setup a template. You rock!

Mind you, I'm still awaiting shipment of my VIs... ouch. I _hate_ waiting!

btw - Will these work with Standard libraries, or just Extended? I'm getting Extended Solo Strings and Chamber Strings, but only Standard Woodwinds I and Brass I, for now. Just curious.

    Hi Jbm
(Unfortunately?) These presets content articulations of both libraries (Standard/Extension).
If you don't have the Extended-Libraries you are free to take the idea of such presets. Design your own presets...

  • Nice [:)]

Gimme a call when you have sorted the Percussion [:D]

  • Good idea, Beat - I was thinking the same thing, that you need to construct the right presets in order to swap instruments without changing anything.

By the way, you only have to put the files in the Vienna Instruments custom matrix folder for Logic or anything else on a Mac (and probably PC) to see them - it's not necessary to find the Logic prefs folder. That assumes you've run the Directory Manager program to show it where your custom Matrixes are located.

    Hi Nick
Thank you for your explanation. I made some remarks for logic-users because one
of them wrote me a mail that he couldn't load my fxp-presets. I searched an answer in
the net and found one here:
    http://logicfaq.omega-art.com/html/faq19.htm#05
Once more thank you for your feedback, Nick

    All the best
