    My new Altiverb will not work in any sequencer, and my VSL VI Licence key is buggered ... it will no longer load new licences. Not bad for £450 and 8 hours work.

    We are already in contact with AudioEase, the developers of AltiVerb, and asked them to look into it. This may take some time, though.

    is there an issue with Macs or is it a PC thing (I'm just about to buy Altiverb)?

    as far as i kept track it is a PC issue ... and only teething troubles ...
    and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.

    I know that it is a bit late, but a cautionary word. NEVER leave a dongle plugged in unless you are specifically told to when installing new software. It is just asking for trouble. One only has to think of the problems that the Logic users have been having and then blaming Syncrosoft. I think that this goes to show what I have believed all along; iLok and Syncrosoft don't like each other, so it is not just a question of Syncrosoft being to blame. I have Altiverb and also use Nuendo (Syncrosoft dongle) and have had no problems so far. However I took the precaution of using the C/R copy protection method, although it still installs that virus known as PACE.

    Is software heavyly embedded in their CP? Meaning would it be possible with only a little trouble to give users the option which CP they wopuld want. Ilok or Synchosoft?

    Never happen, my friend. It's surprising enough that there is a non dongle choice.

    Right - so I assume that is because its hard right? I mean from the companies standpoint it doesnt matter much to them, as long as they are protected. So me as a VI and cubase user wanting Altiverb, I could then choose Syncrosoft. Luckily AltiVerb as a C/R option, but you get the point [:)]
