  • Fitting a fourth ide hard drive

I have bought a maxtor 300 gig 16 meg cache hard drive, for my VI's but my hard drive connectors are used up by my current drives which I dont want to loose. I think I need a hard drive controller card, but I am phased by all the different types. Is their anything I should know? Any recommendations?
A lot of talk about Raid - I dont want to use this feature, can I ingonore and still use the card?

I want to get going quick!

Win XP pro Athlon 3500 Asus 8v deluxe, 2 gig.

    Thanks

  • You can use an external IDE to USB 2.0 device. I use it with my VI without any problem. A quick and easy solution ! [[;)]]

  • I have already bought an internal drive [:O]

  • an external IDE to USB2.0 device changes your hard disk you've bought into an external USB2.0 (or Firewire) HDD.

    For example, I use this : http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/usb%5Fdevices/Vantec%5FNexstar3/
