  • unable to load Violas into VI ?

I recently bought the Orchestra Strings VI-1. For some reason I am unable to load
the violas into the VI, or they're not showing up in the browser on the right hand side. I've tried adding the viola folder in the VI Directory Manager numerous times.
I've even restarted my computer after adding the folder. Still I only see the violins
and not the Violas. I did move the folder over to a new drive using copy and paste.
But then, I opened the Directory manager and changed the path-still nothing?

    TIA,

    Tom

  • Try removing everything from your VI Directory Manager first-- then add it all back.

  • Tom, are you on Mac or PC?

In case that you´re on Mac, please open the application activity monitor, select the processes <VSL-server> and <vsldaemon> and choose <quit process> for each of them.

After doing so open the Vienna Instruments Directory Manager, remove the mentioned folder and add it again manually. This should solve the problem.

  • Hello Maya:

Where is the application activity monitor? I'm on a Mac and I found in Application support/VSL/server & daemon. Are these the right ones? When I tried to open them
    they wouldn't open.Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  • On your Mac go to the Utilities folder and open the Activity Monitor Application.
    This is in APPLICATIONS>UTILITIES>Application Monitor.
In the Activity Monitor window you will see all running applications. If you click on VSL-Server (if it is running) then under the view menu at the top of your screen you can choose Quit Process to close the VSL-Server app.
