  • Advice request

I have been using Opus 1 for a long while and would like to ease into the VIs. Wish I could afford to jump in all the way, but financially I have to go a little at a time.

does anyone have an opinion as to whether Chamber Strings or Orchestral Strings might be the better first step? I love the Chamber demos and could probably work with the sound in coordination with the Opus stuff, but would I be kicking myself for not having the sound of the bigger library?

    Thanks for any input...

I'm afraid that nobody can apart from you can really answer this. It all depends on what sound you are after, as both work equally well. However, I do find the Orchestral Strings, particularly the violins, rather bland, whereas the Chamber Strings seem to have more character. Personally I use a blend of both, but of course this is more expensive.

    DG

  • I have Orch Strings I+II and love them. I would think you would want a full bodied string section to start with and then chamber later. With all respect to DG I think they are very lively and dynamic.
