Another question. The boot.ini change is just a safety net right?

My Machine still craps out before I use up all the memory that the VI says I have left. It says I have 400mb left, where before the switch I could load so much that at one point it said there were only 11MB left. What are your results?
Also when windows boots up, how much ram should it display. I beleive mine loads up 3700 - but it should be above 4000 no?
I thought Mattias mentioned something about ONLY putting 3 GB in the PC's (for now) - having 4 GB could actually perhaps cause some problems.

I think what I will do is wait until 64 bit comes out to buy another (4th - 1 gig stick) for these older PC's -( although, if you are getting another 100 MB with the 4th stick that sounds good.)
By that time RAM will be slightly cheaper and it just may be that with 64 bit - I'll want to put 4 x 2gig sticks (in the 4 slots) - total 8 gb ram.
Of course we don't know when it will truly be ready - with all software people supporting it with new drivers, but I have to think by Q1 2007.
Rob
I bet the older MOBO's will only support 4 GBa justified assumption ... you even have to dig deeper. consult your motherboard manual which RAM sticks are actually supported - there are differnences in the chip-layout (eg. number of pipes used) and the chipsets on your MOBOs sometimes support only a certain variety and combination of RAM-sticks.
Mattias is 'rockin out' on a gig for the next day but will be back [[;)]]Yeah, but in a much worse condition. Rock'n'roll life is much harder now than it was 20 years ago for some reason... [:D]
