  • Vienna VI and GS3

Just a quick heads up. I was unable to use VI and GS3 on the same PC over a network due to pops and clicks caused by opening VI at the same time as Giga. I have (touch wood) solved this by loading VI into Chainer, so if you need to be able to use GS3 as well as VI on the same PC it is possible.

  • I was wondering about this. Can you clarify this for a non techy?

It is possible to run GS3 normally and VIs if the VIs are hosted in V-Stack?

I thought that the new GS3 VST(?) could be hosted in V-Stack along with the VIs? So that if I'm using sibelius to provide the midi I can route the various channels/staves in sibelius to both the GS3 VST and the VI (and indeed any other VST application?) in V-Stack?

I'm going to need GS3 with the pro-ed eddition because some of the VSL instrument ranges aren't high or low enough so they need strecthing n GS3. And you can't stretch them in the VIs.

I wouldn't even try to host GS3 in anything, but don't let that stop you trying if you can handle the hassle. My own view is that once GS3 is running stably don't do anything to it. Do all your other nonsense outside of it.

  • I have been running VI and GS3 on the same PC with no trouble at all. They are not on a network however, maybe that had something to do with it.

  • Is GS VSTi ready ?

  • Not to my knowledge. GS3 is still stand alone.

Update: Oops, I'm wrong, I see that they will have a VSTi virtual instrument in the sping of 06. I'll have to see if they have an upgrade path.
