  • New controller - breath controller useful

    Hi there,

Picked up a new controller - Yamaha S-90 ES. Real please with it - plenty of FC and MW and sliders to give expression.

There is a input for a 'breath controller' (made by Yamaha - BC-3) - is anytone using this? Any good?

I am sure you could assign this to perhaps 'filter' - could be useful for WW and Brass.

    thanks in advance.

I think that Paul uses a BC for velocity xfade. I had one on order form Thomann but they were so useless (the worst, most incompetent company that I've ever had the misfortune to deal with) that I cancelled it yesterday. I'm going with another supplier now, so I can't yet tell you whether or not the BC is any good.

  • Cool Daryl, I can 'see' where velxfade would be good as well as filter perhaps.

Have two footcontrollers and two mod wheels. Due to all limbs working at once - getting close to not being able to blink playing in parts [:O]ops:

BUT - if BC gives more realism (especially with winds and brass) I am all for it.

  • We all working with a YAMAHA BC-3 here, at the studio. We can plug it in our midi keyboard so no external controller needed.

You have all you need for wind, brass AND strings expression. You just need to ajust to your breath and voilĂ  !

The breath controller is the secret of many composer on this forum [[;)]]

  • Very cool - I'll order one today!!!

  • You'll never regret it ! [[;)]]
