  • Memory, Licence: ???

I download the fantastic demo of Jay : Zapateado
    Thanks for sharing tutorial..
But after a look at the memory loaded : 1.28 Go I'm a little surprise so I come back with this question:
With only one computer, it seem's not possible to write a quatuor if we want use a lot of expression ? And as we have only one licence and the strings solo can't be managed..What is the solution? Without obviously to bounce music?
    Best regards

  • No answer? perhaps a stupid question?
What I done : I used the learn function and and the Optimize function..So I can continue my work and load other instrument articulation.. But now I want to change a line so:
I must do reset on the first violin to reload the samples: Cubase sx on pc say:
Erreur: A serius problem has occured try to save you work...
    Vienna: Please wait...Loading data..

Because not enough memory I think? But If I buy additional memory, I'm not sure that Xp will managed it well?
    Best regards

I agree that this is a potential problem. Obviously you can improve things by getting 3-4Gb memory, but this will not solve the single licence issue. However, I think that for the most part you will not need 1.2Gb per instrument, so it might not be such a problem. My advice would be to program using less articulations until you are happy with the composition, then remove the unused samples and start to tinker. That way you won't have to keep loading and unloading samples. Not ideal, but at least a workaround.

Potential? I download the other demo from Jay bacal "Bridge Hearts Ease, after to open it in Sx3 and Vi fx from the tutorial :Again 1.33 Gb used and try to open Kontakt 2.xxx to open my pmi Piano:
Message: Could not allocate DFD memory....!! If if I try to download the piano :
Serious problem.. and crash...So for me the word potential is a reality!!
You tell me to get more memory but I don't see test with 3gb on xp with this kind of configuration?!
In forum I see sometimes that more than 2gb doen't solve the problem, what do you think about getting more memory? I don't want to buy somethingthat has not influence?
If I bought a new licence is it as Update or as full price?!
Philosophy of Vienna was before Vi : never buy two times the same samples??

As update I can pay this but not at full price!
Cause I want to buy other wonderfull library from Vienna
    Best regards

The second "this" is very interesting!

Did you test and have some result on a same machine with Cubase sx (or Nuendo ) and Vi as plugin with 3Gb (2x1Mb, 2x512Mb) with the 3Gig switch installed?

And perhaps with Kontakt also in plugin?

    Best regards

I have not tested yet on my Nuendo machine. I stupidly got RAM that didn't actually fit the motherboard and am waiting for the new stuff to arrive...!

I will be testing with K2, but not until I no longer have a need to use GS3 as I have no intention of letting THAT on my main machine [[:|]] .
