  • Can I use the Vi dongle to install protect from other firma?

    Hello,
I just received Wavelab 6 and want to know if it's possible to install the protection of this product in the Usb Vienna key dongle ?.
After all I read about syncrosoft protection , I'm a little afraid to do this without to have a positive answer. And I want to be sure to not lost or erase the licence of the vienna instrument.
I want to do this in a another computer than the one I use for music.
I have already the program from syncrosoft install in my internet computer: Must I update it before the installation?
Best regards to the person who answer me

  • you can use any syncrosoft USB protection device for ViennaInstruments and move any steinberg license to a ViennaKey - prerequisies: a license control center (v 4.9.8 or better higher) installed on a computer with internet access and both keys attached.
it is sheer impossible to loose a license (even in worst case, the key goes up in flames, if you at least know the number of the keys, in best case have registered them) - the license server will know which license has been moved or failed to get moved.

  • hello,
Thanks for your answer: Everything is Ok .I put the wavelab licence in the Vienna key.
It was easy but not without some stress, because the fisrt I re-plugged the key in my music computer it doesn't see the licence of wavelab

But I had to update the syncrosoft programm also in my music computer or it didn't see the licence of wavelab.
So my wuestion is :Everytime I'll put a new licence on the key, I will be obliged to update all the computers with the syncrosoft program?
    Best regards

  • your wavelab6 license might have showed up as *unknown license* - reason is that cleartext for the license(-name) is stored in the LCC itself for new applications. an older LCC wouldn't *know* wavelab6 even exists ...
