  • RTAS how long?

Hi, I just bought the Ochestral Strings 1 instrument, my dealer told me that it was RTAS ready. This doesn't seem to be the case. I have an urgent deadline, and obviously would love to use these strings. Anyone know how much longer to wait?

    Cheers

You are very unlikely to get an accurate response from the VSL team. They are already a month late on the delivery of some of the remaining titles in the existing formats and have not given a firm date as to when these will be completed. I know that they have said the RTAS and Mac VST are "priorities", but if your need is urgent (read within the next two months) then I would suggest that you investigate using one of the current formats via a wrapper. However that might also come with it's own problems.

  • Can you run a VST Host like Plogue Bidule along side PT till RTAS come out?

  • Hmmm...haven't heard of that one. Well I think i'll be getting NI's Kore soon for my PC so I should be able to run it in that. But I really want it as RTAS on my Mac Protools.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Patchr I've been in same predicament like you, but used RAX and MidiPatchbay to run the VIs outside protools, and it worked great. A cheap solution as well. You will have to bounce ur tracks in RAX though, as there is no possibility of routing RAX outputs into ProTools. But it will do as a stop gap solution, untill RTAS for MAC comes (they said it's in testing now).

    GL with it. [:)]
