  • From First Edition to Orch Strings 1

    Greetings all.

I'm on the cusp of getting Orchestral Strings 1. I already own the First Edition and a few Horizon products. Is this VI a completely new sample set? I don't want to buy it and then find that its samples double up with exisiting ones (unless there's an upgrade option available of course - never pay for the same sample twice and all that).

    Cheers,

    Nick

You will find that there is some crossover, but the workflow is very different. There is an upgrade to the Extended version, and this will depend on what products you already own. Have a look at the full articulation list to see what the crossovers are.

  • Thanks for the info DG. Just found the discount calculations page which is very useful. Apparently with everything I already own, if I buy the Orchestral Strings 1 VI, I'm entitled to a free car valet and a packet of pickled-onion flavour Monster Munch. Cool...

Hey, I never got the Monster Munch. I'm gonna check out that calculator again.

Actually, you do get a discount it you get the Extended vesion as well. However, if you are not wanting to spend that much, take a piece of advice. DON'T PLAY WITH THE DEMOS. I have made this mistake in the past and once I have got used to something it is really distressing to have to give it up. Of course, this doesn't apply to wives. [:D]

  • Oh well...at least you always have the last word at home! ...but when thinking about it I also always have the last word..."yes darling". [:D]

  • Well, I've just bought the extended version as there was a sizeable discount offered. Also I didn't want to go through the demo turmoil that you found yourself experiencing Daryl.

How exciting. I'm obviously looking forward to the Strings but it's the Monster Munch that really gets me salivating. Not as tasty as Nik Naks though. Mmmm, MSG...

  • Coincidentally enough, while reading your last post, I was actually rubbing some E45 cream into a dry patch of skin on my top lip. So attractive...
