  • How do I make this string sound?

    Hey Folks -

I'm trying to get a particular sound out of the Chamber strings, and I can't do it. I will try to describe the sound, but perhaps I should post a link to an MP3.

The sound is a light staccato, leaning towards a gently bouncing of the bow on the string. The best example I can think of is the beginning of the 3rd movement of Mozart's 14th piano concerto.

    Any tips?

Are there MORE *articulations* in the regular strings (I, II) than in the Chamber Strings? Or is it just more effects, crescendos, runs, etc.? I ask because I'm wondering if I will have better luck approaching verisimilitude with the full library than with Chamber Strings...

    Thanks!

    Eric

  • Maybe you find the right articulation in here:

    Matrix - LEVEL 2 E - Keyswitch velocities

check out the different articulations and also step through the different velocities (keyswitches) of one articulation, and if you want to adjust the preattack use the attack controller on the perform page
