  • Question for Jay Bacal

    Hi Jay,

I'm trying out the MIDI files of your excellent demos. (I'm using Logic 7.1.1)
In Britten/Pan, I get one region with all the notes+keyswitches etc, which works just fine. (All VI parameters seem to work...)

I also get a very short 2nd region called "pan midi tempo". The event list shows that there are 2 Meta events which seem to hold a Copyright message, though these don't display as text. There is no other data at all.

Should there be tempo data somewhere? When I play the new song, it stays at whatever tempo I set at the start.

    Any help would be welcome....

    Regards - Colin

  • Hi Colin,

I have no knowledge of Logic. This was done in Sonar and Cubase on the PC. But there should definitely be a tempo track. Maybe there's something wrong with file. I'll double check tomorrow.

    Best,
    Jay

  • Don't worry Jay - I found the problem.
I was dragging your .mid file into an open song in Logic (which is one way of accessing MIDI files). However, the tempo track was not recognised using this method.

I just tried using <File Open> and it works fine - the tempo track is there.
