  • Cannot read installation package

    Hi,

I tried to install the VI Chamber Strings several times, but during the installation process the Installer gives an error message "Cannot read installation package (file ist corrupted?)" and forces me to quit so that I have to start over. The problem occurs on several stages (sometimes while DVD 1, sometimes DVD 2) so that I don't think it's a faulty disk problem.
I tried with Library Installer 1.03 and the version that is part of the Software 1.04 package.

    Any hint desperately needed!

    Best,

  • mick, quicksilver ... hmm ... has one of the *old* superdrives, right?
do you have a chance to either use another DVD-reader or copy the files from the DVD to a folder on your harddrive and run the installer from there?

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks for the hint.

After the 6th attempt it worked last night.
    Phew!

  • Hello,

Unfortunately it's not working here. Trying to install Orch Strings 1, I got the same error message as Mick. I tried copying the files to the harddrive and installing from there. The installer will suddenly quit with no error message at various points during installation. Once it made it all the way through disc one, asked me to put the disc two CABs in the same folder location. I did. It installed for a while and then suddenly quit there, too. Please help!

I have the latest Syncrosoft, VI Installer and VI software.
