  • VA-10_mV_LONG-NOTES Problem

    Hi Herb

I'm not sure if this problem has been raised before ...

I receive a cyclic redundancy error whenever I try to copy the above file from the DVD to my hard disk.

After doing a safe mode reboot I tried to copy over the file but had no luck. I then thought it must have been the disc and have since received a replacement disk. I got that disk today and tried copying but still the same problem.

The gig file is over 1GB and I am wondering if the size of the file is contributing to the cyclic redundancy error that I receive when loading.

If I try to open in giga editor I receive a "bad wave link fixed" message and then the file opens but only contains the basic instruments, none of the relase trigger, combination or dynamic layer instruments.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for any response.

  • Probably this large file switches between first and second layer on the DVD.
It seems that some DVD drives have problems with that.

If you don't have the chance to copy the DVD with a different drive on your harddisc, is the only solution I see at the moment, that we sent you a individual single layer DVD with this file.

Please contact CM, if we should support you with a new DVD.

Wow - that was quick!! I only posted this 20 minutes ago!

It looks like I will need the single layer disc. I will use the contact details provided.

    Thank you very much!!!

  • This file didn't copy the first time I tried it either (during installation, i.e. I was copying the entire disc), but it did work the second time when I went back and just copied it individually.

You could also copy it onto a Mac and then transfer it over if that doesn't work.
