  • Does a legato cello line in parallel 3ds require 2 Insts?

    Hi all,

I have a cello line that is played legato in parallel 3ds....

Since perf-leg cells are monophonic, does this require 2 Instruments? And therefore eat up twice the memory?

    Thanx,

    SvK

Yes..... But if you don't use the legato instruments (or the fa auto ones) you can do it in one instance.

  • DG,

    Thanx,

I'm pretty savvy, but please explain how the "fa auto" ones FAKE it out [;)]

just trying to get my head around it

  • Are you saying that I can use the "fa" ones to fake the effect?

  • I guess I'm the only one bummed that we don't have access to "16 bit" versions of the VI library......

As all my compostions have 4 gig loaded on the mac.....and therefore if I load the VI versions my sesions can't open...

I really think that a 16bit version of the VI library should be available for compostion phase...and when completely written....THEN open 24 bit versions in stems and bounce.

  • The file size of each sample is not larger than a 16Bit file, because of the compressed format.

AFAIK the fa auto patches are designed to be played in the same way as the legato ones, but without the "transition material"; the next note cuts off the preceding one. Therefore they are also monophonic.
