  • Licenses have gone from key....!

I've just got back from a trip abroad and was looking forward to getting back to working with VI only to find that I have no licenses left on my Key. I've scanned devises and found my key using Syncrosoft (the latest version from the vsl site) and apperently no licences are found. Before I left last week I had the full monty of what had been shipped at that point all working in full (i.e. out of demo mode) and being recognised.

When Syncrosoft tells me there's an error it offers me a list of options to click such as <Help>, <Licenses>, <Retry> and <Cancel>, but only an <OK> icon to actually click. I click and find myself in a loop clicking the same icon in new screens before it finally decides to release me back to the program which then doesn't respond. I have a screen shot of the window if you'd like to see.

Please help - I have a demo that has to be in by Friday and I can't access my VI.

Just a few extra things to help you out. My key is in a powered USB hub (and the red LED is on) which also holds my Logic XSKey and that is being recognised. I've tried swapping the VI Key around to different ports, but to no avail. I have restarted and tried again, also to no success.

This is not the first time I've had problems with my licenses not being recognised (see posts from about 2 weeks ago) though those problems did get sorted out. I'm running OSX.4.5, Logic Pro (latest) on a Dual G5 2.5 with 7 gig RAM.

Looking forward to being helped....an advancedly grateful

    Nick

  • Nick:

If you are using License Center v. 5.x.x.x, try uninstalling it and download v. 4.9.x.x which (last I looked) was still posted on Syncrosoft's site.

Also, when you do this, disconnect the powered USB hub (I have one, too) and put the Vienna Key directly into the computer (not the keyboard nor Cinema monitor-- if you have one).

LCC should see the licenses without having to deal with the Syncrosoft Wizard. Just for good measure, run VI Directory Manager, remove all the VI folders and reload them manually.

    Good luck..

  • I just had the same. And TOTALLY went MAD because I'm at the end of a project. (Delivery in 3 hours)

    I upgraded to license controle 5 0 2 0

Every thing is now fine again.

    Thanx for sharing.

    I love the internet
