  • A Message From Syncrosoft

    To VSL Members Using VI:

This message arrived from Syncrosoft to address the issues occuring with the License Control Center. I post it here in case it proves to be of benefit to those of you who are experiencing such problems.

    Kind regards,
    JWL

    ***********

We are aware of the increasing number of complaints.

Please be assured, that at the very moment, we have located all our ressources onto solving these problems.
Unfortunately, these issues seem to occur on very specific hard- and software setups only, so with our systems we still see those errors very rarely only -- still too seldom to get to the cause of the problems.

By now, we have been gathering quite a lot of information by troubled end-users as you are, and hopefully we will be able to create a reproducible setup on our machines.

But in case you'd be willing to contribute a piece of information to help us fixing these problems, it would be highly appreciated!

Most valuable would be to get two different log files, one will contain information about your eLicensers, the second one provides information about your general system soft- and hardware.

To create such log files, you'd have to:
    - connect all your eLicensers
    - launch the License Control Center application (located in folder "/Applications/")
    - choose menu "Help" -> "Support" -> "Save support file..." to get the "SupportLog.txt" log file

    - launch the System profiler application (located in folder "/Applications/Utilities")
    - choose menu "View" -> "Full Profile"
    - choose menu "File" -> "Save" to save a file which contains valuable information about your Mac's settings

In case the errors you're encountering prevent you from getting your work done properly, you might want to check out a beta version of our Syncrosoft License Control installer we are working on to solve this issues.

We're very sorry for all the inconveniences.
Anyway, I'll keep you informed in case we are ready to upload a stable solution to our web site.

Again, we sincerely apologise for all the hassle.

    Best regards,
    Dirk Stegemann,
    Syncrosoft Development

  • Well back in November I had my worries about the Dongle issue:

Forums/Vienna Symphonic Library "The Player on more than one computer"

"While we're talking dongles I do have a couple of serious reservations. I was mixing some stuff that was due on a plane with just 4 hours to go. I did a re-launch of Logic and got an ominous "please enter your xs key code" I immediately rebooted, repaired permissions and the dongle came back on line .. phew but you only have to scan the forums to see this sort of thing is an issue."

It's a shame that the launch of such a great product does to an extent get blighted by a secondary issue beyond the actual performance of what's been purchased.

..and of course the purchaser will view it as a VSL problem not a synchrosoft problem.

If a $200 plug-in doesn't work for a while as the licence software is f***ed that's one issue but when it's a $10,000 pro orchestral package that is relied on for some peoples sole income source.......

    Julian.

  • Now this [:'(]

To be honest - I said I would never be first out of the gate on a new product. This VI is good but I have been down more than working.

Today - it says I can't load celli L2 (no lic). Christian - remember you sent me the 'demo' key 2 days ago.

What do I do now? Should we roll back to 4.9.x in syncrosoft???

    Rob

  • Hi Rob

I'd roll back - fixed all my issues with syncrosoft.

    Best

    Tim

  • Thanks Tim - fixed all the issues [:D]
