PC's optimized for VI?

Hi there,

Yesterday I discovered that some of the matrixes not loading up was directly related to how that PC was set in GS (the memory config tool in GS was set to preset #4 - when I set it to "XP Default" - I had no more loading problems...


BUT... [:)] ... I only get 1.5 gig of Ram (was 1.75).


Which begs the question - will VSL issue a formal plan for optimizing PCs for running their VI?

How much of something like this should we consider...

This is why I said re-set the memory tweaks, 'cause that was one of my problems as well [:D]

However, I'm getting 1.75Gb with XP default, so I'm not sure why yours has gone down. Of course, I'm using Teleport, not a VST host.

Hey DG - there is a 'set to oringinal config' radial button on the GS config tool - have you tried that one? Afraid if I push it my head will explode [8-)]


...But if it give me more ram with no loading issues, its a risk I am willing to take [[;)]]

I'm also getting 1.5 GB on my PC. But I think I'm still using a GS memory tweak.

Some video cards eat up more ram than others. If video isn't important to you on that machine you could try disabling the fancy video card and running video off the basic video chip on your motherboard.

Yes Paul - as a simple host for the VI - I never could get the 'System link' working.

I'll trouble shoot that later after I get throught these 5 first titles.
