  • how to work with two computers?

hi everybody! and sorry for my english...
i know many of you are working with two connected computers (even more), for example one as a slave wich acts as a sampler, and the other for recording with a sequencer...ok... but how do you connect them? i mean, how do you get all your tracks playing together from one computer, recorded one by one in another computer with the same time code? i am using protools LE (with the mbox and soon the M-audio FW410) as recorder on a G5 dual 2,7 with 6Gb of RAM, and i'm having a lot of troubles (most are memory troubles) since i'm working with many instruments from VSL playing together in several NI kontakt instances (on wich i always have a sample loading limit of 2,2 Gb and i still wonder why...but it's not the point), at the same time ruled by many midi tracks (i know i should record each instrument one by one when each phrase is done, instead of adding midi tracks again and again but it is the only way i can compose for the moment). i'm asking myself if it wouldn't be better if i'd use my ibook G4 too, to save cpu and memory, but how? how to connect the midi and the audio between the two computers? do you connect optically so that your sequencer receaves each track separately ?(but with a maximum of eight stereo channels?) and on wich one do you program the midi tracks? or maybe it would simply be useless or too complex for me??? help!!!
