  • V-Stack set up

    Hi there VSL,

The installation on the first two titles (strings I / II) have gone without a hitch (great vid Paul).

Have a question on setting up V Stack. I know you are using this in conjunction with SX 3. x (as I am)

I have this V Stack successfully installed on each slave (4). When I go to my host program and route a midi channel to the cooresponding PC slave I 'see' midi activity on the VS.

Can you give me any hints to get these all locked up. My MOL is working (as I can see midi activity on the slaves when a HOST channel is routed there).

When I start up the 'stand alone' VI on the one PC (directly after starting VS - I get the message the ASIO driver is not working???? The VI then crashes)

I have this slave's soundcard set to the proper driver (on the machine it is the "RME ASIO driver").

Interesting enough, my first Slave shows 'offline' for sync but when I start my host transport - this first slave's transport also shows the same. My other 3 slaves don't sync up though.

Again - I see midi activity on all 4 slaves.

    Can you help at all??

    Rob

  • I'm not sure I understand the question Rob - "all locked up"?

You mean that you want VS to remember the midi inputs you assign?

If thats the case then it will remember once you save a project. So when you have a template set up and saved you shouldnt worry about it again.

But maybe thats not what you mean?

  • Sorry Christian,

I should have explained the situation better,

I have had this network set up for a couple years now (using MOL CP). Everything has worked perfectly with 4 GS slaves.

Within VStack (VS) 'devices/multitrack' you are suppose to see all the other computers on the network - I show none listed BUT I can open a midi track in my HOST SX, assign a MOL midi channel to a slave, hit a controller key and 'see' midi in activity on that particular slave's VS.

But when I hit 'play' on the HOST my first Slave's transport shows movement of time and that's it - none of the other three show movement(but all show midi in activity.) The first slave show 'lock' while the others do not. (the first slave's soundcard settings are EXACTLY like the others that are not sync'd)

The other issue is that on the 4th PC where the VI is installed. I open VS, then open the new VI and it gives me the same message - "the card failed the test, etc." The VI doesn't open properly (when I say NO to the test - the VI opens then crashes)

I am sure that there is a syncing issue going on. It has worked great with GS160 - not sure what has happened now. My Host MOTU mark 3 is the MASTER for sync.

    Any ideas?
