  • Thanks for being thoughtful. helpful and honest

This must be an exciting time for the VSL team. As is usual with the first release of anything truly innovative, there are going to be a certain number of bumps during takeoff. However it is very encouraging to see frequent updates of the software appearing on the website. Once I got things to work it is quickly evident that you've created a very powerful tool for composers. It may not be perfect yet, but your honesty and creative response to criticisms and problems is extraordinary and refreshing when so many software companies first instinct is to blame the users of their products or cite possible defects in users' systems and setups - - instead of paying to attention to an addressing real problems. Of course early adopters of any innovative product are themselves pretty excited and prone to making some mistakes and having some misunderstandings, but the atmosphere at this website is happy and creative. Thanks to everyone here!

  • I'd like to add to that. The number of VSL guys jumping in to answer questions and to assist the installation process along with answering the multitude of questions that the new instruments are throwing up is truly excellent.

When a company helps out like this and on the way admits occasional problems/issues... then goes on to solve them - well that breeds respect from the pro industry that the products are aimed at.

Though being an Apple, and Logic devotee I think their pro handling on software issues pails to nothing when compared with Vienna.

Now I did hear on the TV last night a report that a US sports comentator could not understand how a small country in Europe (Austria - where's that!) had beaten the might of the US on the alpine slopes Hhmm. [H]

.... but all jokes aside: Thanks for your kind words, Stephen and Julian.

  • Well Dietz,

    True you've got Mozart but....

"Britons have been visiting Austria and Switzerland to ski since the 1860s. The Ski Club of Great Britain was set up more than 100 years ago. And it was the British who invented Alpine Skiing (racing), with the first race taking place in the 1920s."
