  • 2 problems

I finally installed a new drive and just got the Solo Strings package installed and working.
[[:|]] Wow!!!! FX: ((((applause and whistling))))

    2 things:
1 - The GUI of the actual instrument (running as an AU) opens as a floating window and NEVER goes to the back and cannot be hidden. So, whether I bring the Finder to the front or any other app, the VI window stays on top, in the way and I have to click to close it. Can this behaviour be changed so that it "hides" along with the host app eg Logic?

2 - Though the pitch bend range says 200 cents, the pitch wheel does not affect pitch. Have I missed something?

    Did I say Wow!!!! ?

    LOTS of learning to do....

Regards and congratulations to the VSL team
    Colin

  • Hi Colin,

    thanks for the "WOW"!

    Regarding your coments:

    1) There will be improvements with the next updates of the Vienna Instruments. When and how always depends on the technical possibilities and the unbelievable work speed of our development team.

    2) As any other controller, you need to assign the Pitch Bend to the left of the keyboard to a MIDI controller. After doing so, the Pitch Bend will be in effect.

  • Got it - thanks Paul.(I should have just read the manual.....)

  • Have to second Musos on the GUI - - which I think should, if possible, gain the ability to be resized, along with an ability to hide. If things were to say as they are, one might need to calculate how many 30" monitors one would need to run an orchestra comfortably! [:)] Also a reunion could be arranged with now separated Logic control bar that is part of every plugin, but is languishing in exile from from the VI GUI This reunion would make it more easily possible to determine which instance of VI is running on which Audio Instrument. (I'm sure this will all get sorted out) On the other hand, in Logic, if you switch tracks, the GUI for the track you leave disappears (at least if you have pressed the Link button on the control bar).

These remarks, aside, even though my experience is currently limited, it is immediately evident that this is a great product.
