OK, I'm installing the Orch String DVD's.
Got as far as 55%, then a "Corrupted file?" message, and the installer aborted.
Got as far as the viola 02.dat

Starting again, will let u know... [:'(]

  • OK...happened again at same place [DVD1/Cab106/ViolasOrchestra02.dat] [*-)]

    Just a dodgy DVD?

    I'll try the solo/chamber strings/woodwind I

Where to from here for the Orchestral Strings?

  • Just looking at the DVD surfaces [checking for obvious marks]

They are all [all five collections - 3 of which were unopened] covered in marks - visible in reflected light -
they certainly dont look pristine - whereas the software CD in each box is totally unblemished.

Can anyone have a look to see what your DVD surfaces are like?

  • Now this has happened on the Solo Strings Installation!!!!

I got as far as Violin25.dat, and the "Corrupted File" message happened again!!!

    Will try one more time.....

    Exasperating!!!!!

  • Hi Andy,

same problems on different discs seems not to be a disc damage.
Does the error occurs at the same amout of installing time?
Any chance to test it choosing a different harddisc or also checking with a different DVD player?

    best

  • Hi herb

Many thanks for your [constant] quick replies on this forum...it is heartening to know that the top management of the company see fit to engage with your clientele in this way

I own the First & Pro editions and now the SC, and have always been happy with the support from VSL.

    Now, my current loading problem---

This is a brand new PC, with two 320GB external USB2 drives just bought today.

So far I have only tried 1 DVD drive, and one HD, but if this fourth attempt fails/succeeds, I'll try a different configuration.

    Thanks again for your help

    Andy

  • Yippee...a different DVD drive and Hard Disk seem to have solved the problem
Am almost finished ORCH STRINGS I installation...

However, that means that either DVD drive 2 or HD2 is dodgy..... [:(]

Still, progress is being made, and that's good!!!!

Herb, thanks once again for your instantaneous response...
You're the king of Low Latency!!!

Same thing here. What a pain. Mac G5. Loaded Strings I and II no problem then get data error with Chamber Strings starting in the middle of Disk #2.
