  • VI and HD space

Just got VI and have started loading it. Two things have come to mind now.

    1) How much HD space is required for only the Standard Library? It seems to load the whole extended library, is there a way to only load the patches for the standard portion?

    2) Is the universal mode only available with the Extended Library?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Eric,

the HD space is the same for both Standard and Extended, because all the data are copied to your harddisk due to their format. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to try out your demo license of the Extended Library. Also, it saves you going through install a 2nd time if you decide to upgrade.

You're right, Universal mode is only available with the Extended Library.

  • Thanks David,
This just means I'll have to get more HD sooner rather than later. I see what you mean about not having to reinstall a second time, I just finished loading Orch Strings I and II, and Solo Strings now the day is almost over. I had to stop and play for a while. VI is a monster, it's going to take me awhile to get it down but I can see why my matrixes would be different than other peoples.

    Thanks again.

  • How much space did Orch Strings I+II take? I'll be loading them soon so I've been clearing out a drive but not sure what I need.

    Thanks,

    DC

  • I think they were somewhere around 52G total if I'm not mistaken.

  • I know the sample data for Orchestra Strings I is 23.52 GB.

  • So maybe it's only 50G. Worth every byte of it though [;)]

  • Sounds good (no pun intended.) Now to make room for Winds and Brass - I refer to my wallet.
