  • "Seeing content" in standalone and AU version

I have installed Strings 1 and accessed those through both the Standalone and AU plugin.

    I then installed Strings 2.

These show up in the Standalone version BUT not in the AU version in LOGIC.
Logic AU manager states it is AU version 1.0. I did run the new software installer right at the start of all this.

    Any suggestions?

Also when using the Directory Manager and clicking on the Rescan existing...

Does it rescan all items in the window or only something you highlight?
And does the fact that the "Rescan" button disappears when you click it mean that it's done its job or it is busy working in the background.. it has been sitting there for 5 minutes and the button hasn't reappeared. There is no spinning cursor to show progress unless it is so quick I didn't notice it.

  • please run the directory manager and try to add the path to strings2 - possibly your AU (host-) application needs a restart to re-read and so notice the added collection is even there.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.

Have done that. See my edited post. Will try a few more times.

    .....A few Minutes Later

Rebooted Logic, Loaded Instrument but got a message about my USB key needing to be moved to another port... I do get USB current overload messages on my hub occasionally.

Then another reboot of LOGIC and they are there.
So what the problem/solution was may not be absolutely clear.

Any suggestions about how you manage lots of open GUIs. It might be an idea to have the ability to Minimise them (not just to the Dock) with the matrix name displayed somewhere. This is what some other software does leaving a small window open with essential info visible.

  • Try restarting the machine.

The Rescan Button disappears because the job is done.

Pls note that starting up the VI (either standalone or AU) for the first time
after a cold start might take some time (1 minute)

    Consequent starts will be faster

(There is an improved version on the way, which cuts this time down to 6 seconds)

    Thanks
