  • hey kristian

are you talking about in the text box which comes below this error message? i've just tried doing what you suggested - still getting the same box popping up. any more ideas?

oh, well, got to get back to finishing off this track. i'll cancel this install and try again tomorrow...

  • Confirmed - I had the same issue - and it now works...

"please put … disk 2 that contains ….cab to the following location"

the only problem is you can't put a DVD labelled DVD2 into the same 'place' (pathway) as one labelled DVD1, so instead, you change the pathname to fit the DVD you want...

ie, change 1 to 2 (and I guess, when I get there, 3). Nice!

    can't wait to get playing!

  • Help!

I've got the same problem but I'm not clear from this thread how you guys sorted it.
Where do you change DVD1 to 2?

    This is making no sense

    Thanks

At a certain point in the install the routine comes to the end of the data on the first disc. The exact point reached by the progress bar before this happens depends on the library size so Strings 2 for example goes a long way along the progress bar before the routine asks for the next disc. At this point a dialogue box comes up asking for the next disc and there is an area within that dialogue which quotes the directory path... ending volume/name of DVD. That path points to the disc you have just installed so it will say 1 at the end of the name. That part of the dialogue allows you to type in it and on my systems that text comes up with a blue highlight. Just click at the end of the name, delete the number 1 and type the number 2. I can't recall if there is an OK button or the act of inserting a new DVD and closing the draw sets things in motion again.

  • I downloaded the latest installer from VSL after finding the same problem and then I could do the install without having to change the DVD number in the dialogue box as it requested the next DVD.

I'm getting the dialogue box (Please, put Orchestral Strings 1.....press OK to continue) with a blank text box underneath. When I copy the directory path that I used for DVD 1 (/Volumes/LaCie d2 195 GB/VI folder) and click OK , nothing happens and if I add DVD 2 in at the start or end of the path it similarly goes nowhere. I'm using v1.02 of the installer. This is driving me nuts!

  • Adrian,

since you already use v1.02 of LibInstall there is nothing to type.
Put in next DVD when asked - wait until DVD spins up and hit enter.

  • I've tried this 3 x now Christian and whenever I press enter the following: /Users/adrianyork/Desktop/ constantly appears in the dialogue box. Can I just drag the files into the destination folder?

  • I restarted again and this time there was some different text in the dialogue box (/Volumes/VSLV03DVD1) , I turned the DVD1 intot a 2 and hey presto....!?

  • Hi guys, I had this problem, because I touched a key of my keyboard, making the path disappear. So U just have to reenter the path, which should be /Volumes/VSLV08DVD4 for example. The last part is the name shown under the DVD-Symbol.
