    I´ve downloaded the new installers from here and now everything seems fine (installing now - haven´t played a VI yet)

    Now, since this is going to take some time: Can I do a network install? Different Mac´s reading different packages off the dvd´s and all writing it to the target disk on the studio Mac? Might speed it up some.

    Yes, this works.
    After installing over different computers you only have to setup your content with the scan tool on your "target" computer.
