  • VI - Routing through GigaPulse

Can anyone think of a way that I can use GigaPulse with the VI? Is it possible?

    Dietz?

  • Would be nice to know before tonight - I'm actually picking the package up the other side of denmark, to avoid the two day delay caused by bestservices wrong address.

  • I am trying to figure that out too.

    1. If you have an ESI cound card, their beta GSIF 2 drivers might allow you to patch audio from your sequencer into GS3.

ESI has an virtual patch capability where you can patch the inputs and outputs of different audio drivewrs into each other (e.g. asio, wdm, gsif). Up until now the GSIF part of the patch panel only showed an OUTPUT. With the GSIF2 drivers they may have added a GSIF input.

    2. Buy Gigapulse VST is the obvious solution.[/i]

  • Thing is - and thats what is annoying about the lack of MIR info - I really want to use MIR. Thats why i'm not prepared to go out and spend $250 on something I'll only be using for a short time.

So until we know approximately when MIR will come and at what cost, i'm trying to stick to what I already own. [:)]

  • Hi Christian,

well, please don't be ridiculous with the (investment) of 250 USD, how much is your cube?

I think it should be clear the hardware is simply not able to run the full MIR specification at this point and this is a major reason why everything is going to take some more time!

Please, this is not an insult to you but more a statement to explain something, ...

    best regards, imusic [:D]

  • Well sure, if you look at the 250 islolated. But being someone who on top of the cube also bought 4 harddrives, cables, a new soundcard, V-stack, and other "minor" investments, I need to be sure that things I buy have value more than a few months. + on top of this i'm saving for a new PC to run MIR, and buying MIR when it comes.

So its not to insult you either, but I dont think you have the whole picture [:)]

PS: Is gigapulse VST a download? Or do they also have to ship it to you?

  • To use VI on a separate system with GigaPulse on a PC you need:

    1) vStack
    2) GigaPulse VSTi

Within vStack you assign GigaPulse to a group or a bus out.

To use VI on the sequencing computer, you need:
    1) the sequencing program
    2) GigaPulse VSTi

Within the sequencing program's virtual mixing board, you assign GigaPulse to a group or a bus out.

    OR:
You bring the audio from VI into specific audio tracks within your sequencer and use GigaPulse as an insert on a specific track or set up a group or bus within the virtual mixing board and assign it there.

ALL of these applications involve the standalone version of GigaPulse.

  • Hey,

I have an idea. I could sell two of my three licenses of GS (inclusive of GP) to someone then I would buy the GP VST. [:)]

    Any takers?

    Rob

  • Christian, as I posted at the 'blue' forum, you can try this program:
    http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2049.html

It allows you to route audio streams between applications.

    Worked okay for me.

Gigapulse VST isn't a 100% valid solution as it is more limited than the version in Gigastudio.
