Dear Forum,
I have a question about ‘Speed Control’ – something that’s puzzling me about how VI responds to real-time input. But maybe I misunderstood something?
Suppose, for example, you have a series of dotted rhythms - dotted quaver (dotted eighth) followed by a semiquaver (sixteenth), repeated a number of times. Tum-ti-Tum-ti-Tum-ti etc
Suppose VI gets the sample articulation of the first ‘Tum’ correct. At this point (as I understood it) VI expects another ‘Tum’, but you play ‘ti’ (so its gets it wrong?). Going on, does VI expects another ‘ti’ and get it wrong again (because you play ‘Tum’). Then will it expect ‘Tum’, and get it wrong again because it’ll be a ‘ti’? And etc?
Did I misunderstand completly?
Or is the solution like in Synful - that VI analyses the sequence before playback and then corrects things?
Thanks.
Patrick
