    here's my question:
    I would like to improve the playback sounds from my sibelius-works...
    Kontakt Player is ok, but as I just finished listening to Copland, I want more, and now I know it's possible.

    Is there a way to playback Sibelius or Finale with this awesome sounds?

    Great Plugin dbudde,

    It worked perfectly with GPO, but yet couldnt figure out how to work Stradivari with it,

    I'm going to start working on a Strad demo soon. I am in the process of posting a demo for Opus1. Should be out this evening.

    What problem are you having with the Strad?

    Frist thx a lot dbudde! I found great information on your hp.

    Just to sum up and see if I got it right:

    - I will need VSL in a format that is supported by the Kontakt Player 3 (Gold) that comes along with SIBELIUS. Is this right?

    - VSL files in a format for gigastudio 3 are no use for me, regarding this issue-solving proposal. Is this right?

    - Can you explain me or give me a link how it would work using gigastudio
    as a tool...?

    thx a lot! I know this are quite basic questions but as a quoted before, I
    want to be sure I buy the right equipment.

    My plugin doesn't work with Gigastudio.
    You need the Kontakt 2 version of Opus1 to use it. All the VSL Horizon produts come in Kontakt 2 format. Kontakt 2 is not the same as the Kontakt Player that comes with Sibelius. It is a separate sampler from Native Instruments.

    I have loaded Stradivari violin in Kontakt 2, then I opened Sibelius 4.1 and created a new score (clicked on the Plug-in sheet). I copy and paste my violin part to the new sheet and then I highlighted and clicked on Plug-in > Stardivari. THEN Play. But nothing happened, I start to play with it by changing channels and turning off the exciting playback devices such as kontakt player gold and others but yet couldnt figure out how to make it play.


    Im looking forward for the opus 1 demo, keep up with the great work.¸

    You must have something setup incorrectly in kontakt or in sibelius.

    Check the folloiwng:

    in Kontakt, setup menu>Audio/Midi setup> midi tab. Check that your input Interface for Sibelius is turned on. It is called something like Apple Computer, Inc. IAC Driver IAC Bus 1

    In Kontakt Strad instrument, set the midi channel to whatever port the Sibelius Mixer is send data on (e.g. [A]1). Or set this to omni and then you can hear from any input devices that are turned on in the midi setup window.

    In the Sibelius mixer. Make sure that the output for the staff you want to sent to Kontakt is set to this same device as your kontakt input port and same midi channel.

    If you can't hear any sound no matter what you do, then one of the above is not setup right.

    I have tried what you suggested and worked perfectly with GPO, but would Gigastudio work with Stradivari as well?

    Anyways, I think there is something wrong with my Kontakt 2 setup as dbudde mention, I will play around with it tonight, untill I get it running.

    Stradivari requires Kontakt2 so it won't work with Gigastudio.

    As i'm technically challenged i tend to think of obvious stuff, because that's all i know.
    Have you activated IAC bus, and set ports in audio/midi setup?
