  • What Can We Erase When VI Arrives?

I'm in a situation where my drives are about full. When VI arrives, will it be safe to delete VSL files from the PRO libraries I already have on the drive that seem to be the same as what arrives?

    Thanks
    Tom H

  • You can delete all of Pro Edition if:

    - You dont want to load your old songs where Pro. Ed was used
    - You plan on getting the extended VI. If not Pro Ed includes articualtions not available in the standard VI.

  • Thanks, that's good news...yes I'll be getting the extended....

  • Tom - If I were in your place, I would keep the ProEdition and take some money into account for new HDs. Call me old-fashioned ... but I've seen people tap into the "I will never need that again!"-trap to often.

  • Well - if something showed uo you really needed, you just install that thing again. But yeah.. no need to delete if you dont have to.

Quite right! I have many jobs which use VSL Pro Edition and I often have to do updates and new versions (TV themes etc) so I will start getting used to an even larger stack of hard drives in my studio. [:(]

    Anyway Dietz, I don't think it's old-fashioned - just careful.....
