  • Att VSL...Examples of Expressive Violins Here...

I posted a short example mp3 of something I, and I hope others, would love to see the VSL violins capable of doing. This kind of playing is not possible right now in the library, because we don't have this kind of expression sampled currently. This kind of vibrato and expressiveness is needed very often in lush pieces, and it's very hard to find a library that can do this, at least in my experience. Please take a listen and I hope others will comment.

This is not an example of the EPIC Violins that we have been talking about, but it does show expressiveness that would be great to be able to bring in with a mod wheel or the like...

You can download the short example here:

    homepage.mac.com/oceantracks

The files is VSL EX 1

    Thanks

I'd pay $1200 for THAT library (if it was fast and easy to program / play) today!

Nice example. The 'life' and 'expression' in this short track is just not available from any sample developer now, but hopefully Epic Strings can get there.

(BTW, Tom - you have a nice voice [:D] )

  • Hey thanks [:D]

That's actually an excerpt from a Sarah Brightman song. She is always working with gorgeous orchestral arrangements, and I get hired to do "soundalikes" for companies that release track only versions for karoke, school performance organizations, etc. It's always a bear to try to even come close to!

Yea that would be a 'bear' especially since the client is already very familiar with the original studio recording (live players). Here's to hoping VSL gets us 'closer' to this sound.
