  • VI working with Pro Ed

    Paul,

January is just around the corner and VI is about to receive its first test by us the users. I'm greatly anticipating this, especially now that I prepared the space for it.
I know or assume this has been talked about but I want to double check this. We will be able to use both, Pro Ed and VI at the same time? Right? Since VI will begin in Jan. with Solo Strings, Chamber Strings, Orchestral Strings I, Orchestral Strings II and Woodwinds I, so I could use Orchestral Strings from VI while Brass from (the soon ancient)Pro Ed. in the same arrange. Is that correct? Will this be quite obvious to do? Anything tricky here?

  • Hi Guy, of course you can use both products, no problem.
Vienna Instruments bahve like any virtual instrument in your environment.

  • Paul,

So for Solo Strings, Chamber Strings, Orchestral Strings I, Orchestral Strings II and Woodwinds I, I really won't need a duplicate of them from my Pro Ed. I could retrieve them from my disk to make more space, right? I'm talking about for new works, not to open old files.

If you're worried about your hard disk being filled up, it's probably time to buy more drives or bigger drives. Conventional wisdom is that you don't want to load disks up too much, for efficiency sake. It's a good idea to leave about 1/3 of a disk empty.

  • Thanks Lee,

But my point wasn't quite that. I already bought more hard disks, but if it will have no utility why let it take space for nothing? I guess the answer is just take them out!
