In the numberless threads of this forum, perhaps this question has been answered...
EXS users have long worked under the 4 GB ceiling of Logic's RAM (due to OSX, as it was told to me), even if we have 8 GB loaded. As VI is a plug-in, would OSX allot as much memory as the sum of its instances would need? Is 4 GB still the limit?
Alternatively, could we load some AI strips as EXS instruments and load others as VI plug-ins, and get past the limit that way?
In other words, does OSX treat memory for AU plug-ins as Logic's RAM or as a different program's RAM.
