I know this has been covered elswhere but basically on an upgrade to the extended Cube you pay 50% of the cost of the Standard Edition to the local distributor (via VSL site or direct) with order.
When you receive parts 1-5 (January) you request the exteded licence from VSL, make a further payment 50% of your personal upgrade cost.
When you receive the final part (part 10) in April the dealer will take a further payment and VSL will, upon the final payment, release the licence for the final extended instrument.
If this is a correct appraisal of the process I have 2 questions:
1. The extended (upgrade) costs are paid to VSL direct - are they taken for the exact same amount as displayed on the discount calculator in the currency of the purchaser - in my case UK £? I ask this as most credit cards charge a significant surcharge if you are debited in a foreign currency.
2. When the orders are taken does the dealer, and VSL take a "retailer authorisation" on the credit card for the full amount not 50% - if this is the method of payment ?
Otherwise what's to stop some inscrutable purchaser (not typical VSL owner behaviour I hasten to add!) sailing off into the sunset with his credit card and 9 Vienna Instruments between his (or her) legs! Without waiting for that 10th set and the bill.
