  • Is it possible?

The initial offer of half and half for the cube, at least for me, seems a good one, and i admire the musically advanced technology this represents.
Just to clear something up that I may have missed in the frenzy of 'discussion'.

Is it possible, should one not wish to avail oneself of THIS offer, be able to buy each 'instrument separately? That is, a present user could simply buy the strings 1, then, as he or she is ready to make the next purchase, buy the next instrument? And if so, will current users still get their VIP price for the extended library? It would mean a gradual expense for all, rather than fork out a lot of money at once.

I can appreciate the emotive discussion has led to some deal of speculation, not all of it based on fact, and i'm wondering if this opportunity, if possible, has been missed in the frenzy?

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • There are Standard Libraries for every volume. You need these Standard Libraries, then you can decide which instruments you want the Extended Library for.

  • So Paul,
as i understand it, i would need to purchase the entire standard ten instrument volume as a whole, then unlock each 'extended library' instrument as i pay?
And in case i misunderstood, do you mean by volume the entire standard set, or each instrument set? i.e Volume Strings 1, Volume Strings 2, ..................

    Set = All?

    Volume = 1 part of 10?

Library= per volume (Standard + Extended?)

I'm not trying to make life difficult, as i admire your achievement, just trying to get past the rhetoric in some discussions, and understand clearly what's on offer.

Regards to you and the team,

    Alex.

  • You can get each "instrument set" (=volume) of the 10 sets available in the Symphonic Cube seperately, letĀ“s say Solo Strings, and then decide to extend, e.g., the solo double bass and the viola.

And this works with every volume the same way.

  • Paul,

Thank you very much. It means the possibility of building the set over time for those want, and the whole lot at once for those who can.

I would hope that others read this, as i suspect a lot of people think it's all or nothing, and have reacted accordingly.

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • Another way I've been thinking about, in relation to "upgrades", it is that, for whatever library you own (or buy now at %35 off) you basically can get a full VIP discount on the Extended Library... this is a bit of a twist, but I think it's essentially true. The other way to think of it -- which is probably closest to the point -- is to simply forget about this whole "Standard Library" business, and think of the Extended Library as the only one -- and for Woodwins 1, it costs $1310 -- no questions. If you own Pro Edition, you get a full VIP discount. Simple.

Hang on just one sec. Are you saying that one has to unlock each separate instrument whithin the VI?

It sounds like you're implying that one would have to pay separately for unlocking each separate instrument within the VI? This is not what has been said up to now. It has clearly been said that an already registered user can upgrade to the extended version and double the amount of samples for 30 Euros.

    Could you please clarify?

That wasn't said. Instead of paying full whack for the extended version, currently registered users could get a discount according to the product they owned. Read the variety of posts relevant to this from the VSL team and you'll understand this is the case.

    Alex.

  • Well, hereĀ“s the clarification: Whenever you decide to extend an instrument (take Solo Violin) or the whole section of a volume (ALL Solo Strings), you will be charged 30 Euro as a download fee, if you already own the collection.

    Clearer now?

    Yes...thanks Paul.

Except why would anyone opt for unlocking just one separate instrument of a VI when one can unlock all of them for the same price?

    R

  • True, if you own the Solo Strings already.

This decision will only be interesting for new users.

Sorry, itĀ“s been a long year.

Ok, I see. Thank's for the info Paul.

I have no clue what you are apologising for, but for what it's worth I hope you get some nice time off soon (or at the very least a really good nights sleep)...because it seems to me that whenever I check these forums you are here. [:P]

    All the best
