    I just got my VSL today and am loving it so far. However, I couldn't get the repetition tool to behave the way it's described in the manual.

    I took the manual home with me to read, and I don't have gigastudio in front of me at the moment, but let me try to describe:

    I have the performance tool set up to receive my midi in port 2, and send out to nemesys port 2...

    I loaded up a violin perf_rep patch, and set the tool to "rep" mode on channel one. If I play a note, I can hear the repetitions just fine. For example, if I have rep5 loaded, if I press and hold down, I hear 5 reps. If I press down again, I hear 4, and so on and so forth. However, the manual shows the rep tool with keyswitch rows that are blue and are filled with 1s, and the box to the left of each row is black. Well, in mine, everything is blank. If I play a note, a 1 appears, but then disappears. Also, the manual says to put the number of reps in the patch in the "black" box. Well, I use the arrow key to select 5, but when I click out of that box, the number disappears!

    Is there something that I forgot to do? The play zone is set properly and I can't think of any other settings that I messed up?

    please make sure, you're using version 1.1 (click on the icon in the titlebar and select info) available in our download-area

    is there a small blue border around the white box (where the numbers should be readable)? which operating system (service-pack) do you run?
    are there special custom settings in use for display | appearance?

    i've noticed this effect on a W2K-system with a matrox 550 - on an identical machine (with identical settings, except a prodif-pro instead a hammerfall) i could not observe it ... very strange

    although we have tested the tool with all available machines under W98SE/ME/W2K/XP in german and english, unfortunately this issue came up after the release of the final 1.1-version - we're working on that

    any help identifying the origin of this behaviour is highly appreciated

    thanks for your help Iam using xp pro and the layla card and the
    giga studio is on my laptop I have turned off all the fancy stuff and
    have the computer running in best performance mode. Hope this problem can get fixed soon .
    Love the library. Billiant stuff you people are doing.

    have you by any chance turned on any whacky desktop themes or colour settings? It sounds a bit like your text is set to a similar colour to your background...?
    Is your PC a standalone Giga box, or are you running other stuff on it as well?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your help so far...

    We are using Giga on a dedicated Acer laptop with dual monitors. We tried turning all the XP effects on and off, but the problem with the tool remains (see original post). We do use a program called "Webshots" that downloads desktop backgrounds and makes them available, and we change out desktop picture every day or so... We also use a thing called Incredimail which is an add-on to Outlook Express that gives you little animations and stuff.

    We are using an ATI graphics adapter on the laptop, and XP Pro edition.

    Another info that might be useful?
