    Just curious if VI running on the Mac will now support release samples, of if there will still be differences in the libraries between platforms.

    of course all features are supported on all platforms.
    btw: also VSL for EXS supported release samples .. there was a little restriction with EXS though - the release time could not be changed _after_ you had already _triggered_ the release sample, that's all

    So with the VI, will old .exs libraries work properly on a PC and .gig on Mac?

    Vienna Instruments doesn't read EXS or GigaStudio libraries. A new sample format had to be devised to make all the features it offers possible, so VI only plays VIs - on Mac and PC alike.

    I'm still trying to figure out if this will run in Pro Tools....

    anyone have any ideas? Maybe I'll try a separate heading...

    I wopuld have thought that it would run with a VST bridge. If not, then you have to blame Digi from making darn sure that their soft/hardware combination is not really compatible with anything else.
