  • VSL Cube HD Price Speculation

I have read many comments on this forum about price speculation concerning the new VSL Cube that may become available on a hard drive. If this medium is used, will there be an upgrade price for registered users of First Edition; Pro Edition; and Horizon Series: Solo Strings, Glass & Stones, Saxothones 1, Concert Guitar, Overdrive, and Epic Horns?

I am asking because I own all of the above mentioned products. I have paid a lot of money for this library and I'd like to be considered a preferred customer when it comes to this sort of thing. I am sure other registered users of this library feel the same way. We don't expect to pay a full price twice for ease of use on an upgrade. VSL customers should expect some sort of relief if they should decide to upgrade to this medium.

I am interested to know if there is going to be any such consideration whatever the price is?

  • Yes, there will be an upgrade price. But I guess it will simply be the price of The Cube minus the price of your current samples. Similar to how from first edition to pro edition was handled. Maybe there will be a pre order price, but I cant remember if VSL usualy do stuff like that

As for what it will cost, your guess is as good as hours. I'm hoping we're in the vicinity of twice the current Pro Ed... making it the Pro Ed price for us Pro Ed owners. If its far more expenssive that that I think they will sell maybe 10 copies worldwide, tops [:)]

    But who knows.

Doing the math - maybe 10K USD for SC (you never pay for the same sample twice). This is my best guess.

Lot of money but go into the studio with some good players and within a week's time you'll pay that easily (or hopefully the production company [[;)]] )

And the results will be better than any sampled library on earth[;)]

  • AS long as the current Pro-edition comes down in price I don't care how much the new one is. [:D] I'll but the new one when they bring out a newer one than that. The Pro-edition would suit me just fine at the moment.
