  • My first impressions about Synchron Stage Reverb (SSR)

Using the trial version of the Synchron Stage Reverb (SSR), I would like to share here my first impressions about this software.

SSR simplifies drastically the settings of a reverb effect. Only 3 parameters are adjustable and it is possible to get a good reverb result in few clics. As this effect has to be applied to every instrument channel, the gain of time is significant.

The Graphic User Interface (GUI) is also simple and clear giving a nice view on the settings of the concerned instrument. In particular the Orchestral view which helps you to put quickly instruments at their usual location in a standard orchestral layout.

Although it's recommended to be used with Studio instruments, I kept using my Duality strings with satisfactory results. I took the "A-solo" and the "B-Dark" mixer channels for them.

In summary, I found this product very attractive for those who want to have an easy reverb effect.

On top of this, I respectfully suggest the following :

    • To have the ability to edit the zone names and colors. If I put my second violins in the cellos area, I would like to change the label and I also would like to change the blue of woodwinds to the usual brown. Maybe cosmetic but consistent with Synchron player standard colors.
    • I wonder if it would be possible to have the list of instruments having the reverb (on the left side, for example, like in MIR) to be able to easily and quickly change the reverb settings without having the mixer view enabled. The area to activate the SSR window is very small on the mixer view and we have to move to it each time. (see attached picture).

Congratulations to all members of teams who have developed this software module.

    Best,

    Eric
