  • MIR Preset Instrument list order the wrong way round

In MIR Pro 3D you can save venue presets with instrument positions and other parameters and I was assuming that when dragging such a saved venue preset to the venue slot on the right of the screen that all previously saved instruments would be loaded automatically.

That is not the case however. although you see all instruments when you drag the venue over, none is loaded and you have to load them all manually. The reason is probably that when you save all instruments at the same time, by option clicking on one of the instruments save buttons, that the instrument list is saved the wrong way round.

Example if you have a full orchestra you would have piccolo at the top of the instrument list and double basses at the bottom. The saved list has exactly the opposite order however the double basses are at the top and the piccolo at the bottom.

Why is this? It would be a huge time saver if you could drag and drop the venue plus all instruments. Am I doing something wrong saving or dragging?

  • Here a screenshot. Right the correct order. Left the wrong way around saved with the venue.

  • The problem arises from the simple fact that the host loads plug-ins at its own speed and order, so MIR has no real information about their arrangement. Nevertheless, VSL's software engineers are aware of the issue and try to find a workaround.

    Thanks for your patience!

  • Thanks Dietz, I hope we will get an update soon. The next version could maybe also automatically close the MIR sever (or have an option to do this) when you close the linked project to avoid the isses with instrument list order discussed in my other thread.
