    Hi!

Working on an orchestral piece which among other percussion instruments on single lines include a Tam-tam. However, I can't get it to playback since the line marks C4 (and sounds therefore a gong at then same pitch since I'm using Studio Special Edition Gongs Cymbals and Gongs). How do I get the Tam-tam sound to the percussion line?

  • Probably best to post this Dorico question on the Dorico forum here.

Well, since it deals specific with VSL SE, I posted it here in hope to get an answer from Andi or someone else from VSL.

  • Cadenza, after looking at your original post again, I don't know what I was seeing, but indeed there is no mention of Dorico. My apologies.

  • Hello Cadenza!

For triggering a tam-tam with Dorico, I strongly recommend using the Dorico instrument "Tam-tam". It has a single-line staff. If you apply a playback template that you have created with Dorico Wizard, everything (Synchron Player preset, Dorico expression maps, Dorico percussion map) will be assigned automatically for this instrument.

    Best regards,
    Andi

Thanks Andi! So the Studio SE Percussion doesn't work even though it has the correct Percussion map?

  • Hi Andi!

I checked what was loaded in the Play section and it turned out that the ¨Studio Tam-tam¨ wasn't loaded on the independent track so I did that and it works fine now!

    Best regards,

    Anders (aka Cadenza)
