Hi Ege,
Trying to find your support case. Which case number is it?
It's Steve, BTW.
(Case 554819) VI instruments not loading into either VIPro or Synchron player
TL;DR -- dead key, need help using Temporary cloud licenses
In the Support Case cited, 554819, after I "synchronized" the keys using iLok Manager program -- at the suggestion of Marnix, I was able to access my Synchron and VI instruments. So all looked well! Then, in a later session things stopped working again. The problem was a failed key.
The iLok key on which I had stored my licenses was not lit up, as was the other key (I have 2). I tried different USB A slots in my hub (which had worked fine previously and still worked for the other key), and then tried direct connection to my M2 Mac Studio and to the Display with the same result in both cases, key appeared faulty or dead - either would blink and stop or never light up.
I put in a request with iLok for a new key under their Zero Downtime program. For about $90 I was able to order a new key and receive temporary access to my licenses, all of which appeared today in the iLok Manager program as being stored in the cloud, but as "Temporary". I was told by iLok that these cloud licenses will expire in about 2 weeks while I wait for the new Dongle, presumably with the licenses from the dead key stored on the new key. While making my request for a new key, I asked them how to store just on the cloud so I don't have worry about key failure in the future.
Unfortunately for me, the "Temporary" licenses don't work to give access to my instruments, Vi or Synchron. I couldn't find a way to temporarily use them while I await arrival of the new iLok key. I assume I must do something here, at VSL, to switch over to cloud licenses for most of my instruments (some are still stored on the working key) -- and then to switch back to the new Dongle when I get it.
==> If you could tell me how to allow use of the Temporary Cloud licenses I would appreciate it, Paul. Also, if you can tell me the steps needed to switch ALL my VSL licenses to the cloud, that would be an added bonus.
Of course, there's always pencil, paper and my acoustic piano.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Steve
