Any plan on adding one of these anytime soon? Couldn't see it anywhere in Vienna Assistant and it isn't in the regular Synchron Expressionmaps download.

No expression map for Synchron Woodwinds English Horn?

Hello Deaddreamswhispering!
I'm not sure if you are talking about Dorico or Cubase expression maps. Anyway, both kinds of expression maps are available for the Synchron Woodwinds english horn.
With Dorico you can use the expression map "VSL SY Woodwinds - High lyrical woodwinds".
With Cubase you can use the expression map "VSL SY Woodwinds - 11-13 Oboes".Best regards,
Andi

Hi all,
I just came across this thread because I was curious about downloadable articulation / expression maps for VSL instruments. I found the synchron expression maps download within VSL Assistant, but is it true that it applies only to the Cubase DAW? I use Logic, will these files work? Or alternately, are there versions of them for the various DAW's out there?
Thanks!

Expression maps don’t work in Logic. AFAIK VSL hasn’t provided any articulation sets for Logic. Artconductor sells articulation sets for Logic which include VSL libraries.
I would love to see VSL produce them.
Disclaimer - I am not in anyway affiliated with Artconductor except as a customer.

Thank you! This is helpful. I had come across ArtConductor a couple months ago, but didn't purchase anything because I had trouble believing Logic was so far behind in the articulation map game. A friend and colleague of mine uses Digital Performer, and DP has a "sync to VI" function that instantly produces articulation maps by interfacing with virtually any VI instance. Hope Logic can catch up, or that VSL generates their own downloadable maps. Seems like such a no-brainer. Thanks for the help, and if I have any questions about ArtConductor before purchasing I might come back to you.

Hi @rwholloway Apple Logic has never produced any Articulation Sets (AS) as they call what Steinberg calls Expression Maps for third party libraries. I don't think they ever will.
All AS are either offered for free (like those for BBCSO) on the www made by users or companies providing the libraries like VSL or they can be bought from companies like Babylon Waves Art Conductor or in conjunction with other functionalities like Digital Performer. DP is about 5 times the price of the Art Conductor for Logic by the way. So a bit expensive if you just want AS for Logic. Art Conductor had at least once a year a 30-50% rebate the last few years. So with a bit of patience...
The problem with Logic however is that in the standard setup your key switches are limited to three per articulation. So you can only access a limited number of articulations if you have Synchron libraries which have combinations of 4 or 5. If you want more you need a software like X-DAW from Audio Grocery which provides scripts which can make all VSL library articulations available in Logic.
