  • Microtonal playback

I want to playback microtonal scales using VSL with Dorico.

I have installed the latest update to Synchron player.
In Synchron player I can now select an instrument and the tuning fork icon,
select a microtonal scale and play it back.

However, when I go into Dorico and create music for eg flute
I then go into Dorico Play to select the VSL Synchron flute,
but in VSL it no longer shows the tuning fork icon
so I cannot use it to playback microtones.

What do I need to change so that I can write a piece in Dorico
and get it to playback using the microtonal scales in VSL ?

  • I think that the ability to play back microtonal scales 'looks' fantastic, but I cannot get it to with with Dorico.

Is the problem with the settings in Dorico or the settings in VSL ?

I asked the question above but have received no response

    Thanks

    Peter

  • Hi pwalton,

Not a Dorico expert here, but from what I understand, you need to turn on "receive MTS" in the advanced tuning preferences.

And then change expression maps tuning from auto to detune.
