I did have the same problem and did purchase a software called DAVE. This will make a network between your G4 and your PC (s). It does work quite well and you can load your DVD's directly from the super drive to your PC HD. It is not even slower as with a PC build in DVD drive. BUT....it is better to turn DAVE sharing off while not using it, because it can produce problems and crashes. Maybe their are also other soulutions?

thanks iwan to point that out (also several other third-party-software for sharing PC/mac has some unwanted side-effects)
i've sent jrodmusic a private message, since with XP he would be able to use ftp-filesharing with nearly no effort
given he uses OSX, the same would work the other way around or even using windows-shares
(note: i'm trying to keep such technical stuff out of the library-forum, as i feel it may be not the right place to discuss)

jrodmusic,
I don't know the reasons for not wishing to have a drive that reads DVD's, but just in case you haven't checked it out recently, a decent DVD reading drive is ridiculously cheap. You can pick up a nice, new Lite-On drive at www.newegg.com for $33.
This is a huge library, and a DVD reading drive will really make installation a LOT smoother.
