  • Dorico Expression Maps for Remote VE Pro

I have 2 computers. VE Pro 7 on a server and Dorico 5 on a DAW. Is it possible for me have the expression maps for all libraries on the DAW and use VE Pro 7 remotely ?

I am not able to do that. I see that the Dorico Wizard basically has to have all VSL libraries on the same machine, so that when I use the play template all libraries are loaded in synchron player as seperate instances in Dorico 5.

Please correct me if I am wrong. If that be the case, is there a way for me to have just the expression maps on DAW ?

  • Hello Ram!

Yes, you can use our libraries with Dorico and VE Pro on a second computer. To install the expression maps on your Dorico computer, run Dorico Wizard, de-select the "Installed products only" checkbox and manually select the libraries that you have installed on your other computer. Details on how to use Dorico Wizard can be found here:

Please note that you will have to create your own custom playback template. The playback templates created by Dorico Wizard only work with local Synchron Players.

  • Thank you Andi,

    Appreciate your quick response.

There used to be a detailed document on Instrument Combinations a while ago .. around 2015. I am unable to find that under Academy/Instrumentology. Is that something still available somewhere ? Please post the link.

    Regards

    Ram

  • Hello Ram!

As far as I know our Academy sites should be online in its complete form. I'm not sure what you are missing exactly. If you are looking for which instruments combine in which way, you can check that out on the instrument pages under "Sound Combinations".

    Best regards,
    Andi
